This was a very straight forward set of graphs to make, which involved making 4 identical copies of the previous Cumulative graph, and then adding a filter option by source:
I also decreased the size of the slicer to that it was on the side of the screen and allowed more room for the graphs, making it easier to read.
Expanding on this, I decided to create a combined chart of the sources by year. So rather than compare each source by each year, I would instead compare the sources against other sources in a given year.
This is essentially the original Cumulative graph, but instead of using “Years” as the legend, I used “Source”. Which now compares the number of SubIDs each source provided within a given year.
Both of these graphs provide useful, yet different insights. The first set of four graphs shows how each Source has done comparative to itself over the years, which can be useful to see when they were submitting more or less. The second combined graph is useful as it illustrates how much that source provides relative to other sources, even if that source submitted less in one year compared to another, was it less than other sources?
These graphs mostly provide some useful insights into each of these sources and may direct us to communicate with some of them if we feel they are submitting less than usual and try to identify issues which may be occurring. Which may have an effect on our funding.
